I was waiting for the chippy to open in Hartland and wandered around the square using my new pinhole adapter. I’m really enjoying using it.
Well, I tested the pinhole attachment and whilst it was possible to record an image, I probably chose the wrong subject. I’m looking forward to experimenting though.
I think I need to alter the size of the pinhole or increase the focal length, maybe by using an extension tube.
There’s an article in Amateur Photographer this week about building your own pinhole attachment for a digital camera. I thought I’d have a go and this is the result:

Now I just need to test it.
Yesterday a group of us from the Amateur Photographer forum met on Brownsea Island for a day photographing whatever wildlife we encountered. The weather was amazing, early fog and mist cleared to a beautiful sunny autumn day. Food was plentiful for the Red Squirrels so they were well fed and showed no interest in the hazelnuts we had brought. Instead I took the opportunity to photograph dragonflies for the first time.
I’ve rented this lens from Lenses For Hire and it’s just arrived by Special Delivery. I rented this lens previously for the Dawlish Air Show and was very impressed with both the lens and the service from Lenses For Hire.

I’ve been searching through some old slides and negatives and came across this one. It’s a shot of the ICI works at Thornton in Lancashire and was taken when I was about 14. I’m rather pleased with it.

I just thought I’d start a blog as a diary of what I’m shooting, record any thoughts about certain shots and generally ramble on about stuff.
